Accounting & Tax

Isle of ManAnnual Accounts

Your year-end accounts and tax return, prepared accurately, filed on time, and actually explained to you. No surprises in the last week before a deadline.

How a year-end runs

The work happens in order, not in one panicked block before a deadline.

Before year-end

Decisions, not a scramble

The decisions that change a year-end outcome mostly have to be made before the year has ended, not after.

The records

What we need from you

Your accounting records, bank statements for the period, details of anything unusual, and the paperwork for any assets bought or sold.

The accounts

Prepared, computed, filed

A full set of accounts from your records, and the tax that follows, computed, explained, and submitted for you.

The conversation

Not just a PDF

We walk you through what the numbers say: where the margin went, what changed, and what it means for the year ahead.

What year-end should feel like

Year-end accounts serve two audiences. The Assessor (the Isle of Man's income tax office) needs them in a particular form, by a particular date. You need them to tell you whether the last twelve months went the way you thought they did. Most firms deliver the first and treat the second as optional.

We prepare a full set of accounts from your records, reconcile everything that should reconcile, and compute the tax that follows from them. Then we sit down and go through what the numbers actually say: where the margin went, what changed, and what it means for the year ahead.

If your bookkeeping is already with us, most of this is done before year-end even arrives, because the work happened month by month rather than in one panicked block.

What's included

Every engagement is scoped to what you actually need, so this is the shape of the work rather than a fixed package.

Full statutory accounts

The formal year-end accounts the law requires, prepared from your records with the notes and disclosures that go with them.

Tax computation and return

The tax position that falls out of those accounts, computed, explained, and submitted for you.

Reconciliations that hold up

Your bank balances, money owed to you and money you owe, all checked and agreed, so the figures stand up to scrutiny long after filing.

A conversation, not a PDF

We walk you through the results, what moved, and what to do about it. That is the part most people never get.

Common questions

Before it arrives, ideally. The decisions that change a year-end outcome mostly have to be made before the year has ended, not after. If we are doing your bookkeeping we will raise anything worth acting on during the year rather than reporting on it afterwards.
Your accounting records, bank statements for the period, details of anything unusual, and the paperwork for any assets bought or sold. If your records are messy, say so. We would far rather know up front than discover it halfway through.
Yes, and it is more common than you might think. Tell us honestly how far behind things are and we will work out the order to tackle them in. Getting current again is almost always less painful than people fear.
Explain it. You should understand why the figure is what it is and what, if anything, could sensibly be done differently next year. A return you do not understand is not much use to you.
